Rwanda ICT Chamber Visits iSQI Group in Potsdam, Germany

On August 9, 2021, Rwanda ICT Chamber visited iSQI Group headquarter office in Potsdam, Germany to officially present the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between both organizations and further discuss the objectives of the partnership in Rwanda. The event was graced by Stephan Goericke (CEO of the iSQI Group), Amb. Igor Cesar (Ambassador of Rwanda to Germany), and Chris Dushime (Representative of Alex Ntale, the ICT Chamber CEO).

The Beaming Knowledge in Africa initiative was officially launched in November, 2019 and has achieved many milestones to-date with more than 55 IT enthusiasts in various tech start-ups in Rwanda benefiting from the training organized in collaboration with the Rwanda ICT Chamber.

In an interview with SIBB, Stephan Goericke said, “Africa has incredible potential: IT in Africa is young, innovative and technically complex. Looking ahead, Rwanda in particular will become an important international business location”.

Rwanda’s ambassador Igor César speaking to Steve Reutter of Maz Online, emphasized how important the project is for people in Rwanda to gain a foothold in the global labor market. “It gives us the opportunity to be part of global development,” he said. We don’t see Rwanda as a small country, “we see ourselves as a country of unlimited opportunities,” he said. Part of that, he says, is the government’s effort to digitally transform the country. He praised iSQI’s effort in providing expertise and training of young people which is desperately needed in Rwanda.

iSQI Group and its partners will also pay a courtesy visit to Rwanda from the 14th – 21st of March 2022 along with some German delegates including some heads of organizations in cooperation with the German Embassy. The highlight of the 7 day visit will be the nGen Geek 2022 event scheduled to take place at the Kigali Convention Center on the 18th of March 2021.

The flagship event with the theme “Building the Next Generation of IT Geeks in Africa” is expected to attract over 200 participants, including Ministers, Public & Private Sector, International Organizations, Industry Leaders, Investors, Entrepreneurs, Young Innovators, and Academia.
